Jason Hanson spent 20 years as a successful software engineer, agile coach and systems architect before leaving tech to fulfill his life’s purpose as a visual artist and transformation coach. Jason’s enlightenment journey began in November 2008, in a dusty pickup on an empty highway in East Texas. His wife and first love Lisa had given him a hard copy of Eckhart Tolle’s The Power of Now twice; he’d thrown out the first and lost the second. The third copy was in CD form, and in a fit of boredom he plucked disc one into the dash, and received Tolle’s message like a bolt of lightning from above. Upon his return, Jason started both therapy and Al-anon meetings for the first time in his life.

In 2013, Lisa lost her life to alcoholism. Jason’s determination to ensure that both he and their son Julien would rise through personal loss and devastation led him to pursue personal interests more fully, creating space for certifications in yoga (including a 30-day stay at an ashram in Mysore, India), meditation, coaching and tantra while maintaining his career in software. In 2019, Jason’s life path once again detoured while on the road. This time it was a head-on collision between Jason’s motorcycle and a van, leaving Jason with a severe concussion, two broken wrists, a broken leg, a broken clavicle and, in a divine wink from the universe, a bruised scrotum. Jason never returned to tech.

Jason works with brave, bold individuals who are ready to do their deep work without the necessity of a near-death experience like his own. Jason is also a life-long artist, you can see his work here.

For the first time in my life, I’m actually excited about the next chapters of my career. Jason has a talent for tapping into your true feelings by approaching every session with curiosity, non-judgment and openness. I’ve learned how to better manage my own stress, challenging family situations and confrontations at work in a healthy and strengthening way. I’ve learned to listen to my breath and identify when my body is telling me both “YES!” and “NO”. The wisdom I’ve gained from my meetings with Jason has been life-changing and eye-opening in nearly every aspect of my life.
—Stephanie Cane

I’ve uncovered unconscious beliefs and behaviors and changed to see myself and others with more kindness and compassion, increased awareness, and diminished judgment. He has aided me with new and more efficient ways to communicate that build connection and trust.
